Overview

UW Credit Union is seeking a Wealth Advisor in Madison, WI.  Join our wealth management team that is dedicated to helping UWCU members identify and achieve their long-term financial goals.  This position offers the opportunity to build a client base through the Credit Union referral network, leads, and member and community education. Wealth Management at UW Credit Union offers investment products and services through LPL Financial. This position will cover multiple branches in the Madison Market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain active sales pipeline built with referrals from the Credit Union, existing clients, and through conducting outreach to lead lists and other prospecting activities.
  • Establish, build and maintain strong internal relationships across all lines of business at UWCU to ensure consistent and frequent referral activities.
  • Provides tailored advice to members and clients through financial planning.
  • Effectively balances responsibilities for business development, financial planning, client meetings and follow-up, internal partner training and coaching, personal development, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to build trust and deepen relationships
  • Knowledge of investment management and financial planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act as a strategic advisor
  • Understanding and strong working knowledge of MS Office; ability to effectively utilize Credit Union and Wealth Operating Systems (Redtail, Coconut, MoneyGuide, ClientWorks, etc.)

 

Education & Experience

  • 3+ years experience in a Wealth Advisor or Financial Advisor role with proven sales record and knowledge of investment markets, products and services focused on excellent client experience
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (63/65) required
  • Life and Health Insurance License
  • CFP or other professional designation(s) preferred or progress toward or interest in perusing required 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
