Overview

The HRIS Analyst is an expert in the development, optimization, and maintenance of the People Strategies and Solutions (PSS)/Human Resources (HR) systems supported by the People Technology team at UWCU. The analyst translates business objectives into technical system requirements to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the user experience with the UWCU and PSS/HR systems. The analyst is responsible for identifying, implementing, and prioritizing PSS/HR system upgrades, new system solutions, data flows, and integrations in collaboration with subject matter experts within the PSS team, IT, and operational stakeholders to meet business needs. This role will have an impact on improving the employee experience through technology, digital, and initiatives.

Responsibilities

HR System Performance and Support

  • Evaluate PSS/HR systems to address areas of optimization and make recommendations to PSS leadership to eliminate redundancy and increase efficiency across all platforms.
  • Identify gaps in processes and/or workflows to enhance system performance, data integrity and reduce manual interventions and recommend solutions to stakeholders.
  • Evaluate system improvements and new functionality from vendors’ system upgrades and releases to determine impact and priority.
  • Establish a network of peers within the industry and vendor community platforms to exchange best practices, trends, and vendor experiences.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive list and diagrams of all PSS/HR systems, integrations, and workflows.
  • Follow approved processes for creating and maintaining all data flows in and integrations for PSS/HR systems to obtain business objectives and at the same time secure employee and business-related data.
  • Oversee and support all data integration methods and connections to PSS/HR systems, including APIs, SFTP, and vendor data exchanges for data movements.
  • Identify and suggest improvements and optimizations to leverage current investments in PSS/HR systems to control costs.

Technical Solutions to Support Business Objectives 

  • Recommend process improvements, innovative solutions, and changes to improve and optimize People Technology service to the organization.
  • Identify and translate business objectives and end-user needs into clear technical requirements to meet user requirements.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify and develop technology solutions to streamline and automate PSS/HR processes to enhance the user experience.
  • Propose, design, and implement solutions that maximize PSS/HR system capabilities.
  • Implement and document these requirements into existing PSS/HR systems using approved methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the PSS/HR Technology Roadmap using innovation and best practices.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for PSS/HR systems-related technical inquiries and issues. Provide timely and effective troubleshooting, support, and training to HR users and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with IT teams to integrate the PSS/HR systems with other systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and minimizing manual data entry.
  • Collaborate with internal UWCU teams and external HR system vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues, implement upgrades, and ensure timely support for system-related matters.

People Analytics

  • Assist with the development of HR data analytics by leveraging systems, reporting tools, data sources, and dashboards to deliver actionable data reports to inform stakeholders making business decision.

  • Gather requirements and recommends prioritization across multiple stakeholders within a project portfolio to implement enhancements, improvements, and data schemas to continuously improve reporting and dashboards.

  • Coordinate the reporting functions within the People Technology team to create custom reports and analytics to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Develop processes to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into or out of PSS/HR systems, using approved tools to comply with governance and at the same time optimize data flows.

  • Manage and ensure the quality of HR data, performing regular audits, resolving discrepancies, and determining root cause analysis for process improvement to sustain data quality. Ensure the PSS/HR systems and data flows to other systems comply with data privacy regulations and security standards.

  • Implement and maintain appropriate access controls, user permissions, and data protection measures for reporting and analytics tools.

  • Catalog all ongoing and scheduled reports in the People Operations employee data management catalog.

Project Management
  • Serve as the IT liaison and subject matter expert across all PSS/HR platforms to manage configuration, end-user access, security, and technical requirements by following established protocols and governance practices to ensure data integrity.

  • Create or contribute to project planning and agile methodology to complete improvements, initiatives, and projects on the PSS/HR technology roadmap.

  • Develop collaborative relationships with IT, accounting, external partners, and various operational teams to design, develop, and deliver system solutions that satisfy business requirements.

  • Coordinate the IT full life cycle of PSS/HR systems through a technology roadmap, and the associated project planning.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, integrations, and workflows related to projects and initiatives.

  • Compose effective project communications to stakeholders and users with knowledgeable and helpful persona to establish trust and credibility.

  • Create user guides and training materials to facilitate user adoption and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • 6-7 years of Human Resources and/or Technology experience is required.
  • 4-5 years of experience working as an HRIS Analyst or in a similar technical role within HR operations is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint,
    OneNote, Teams, and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with strict confidence.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.
