Overview

UW Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Lending Sales Manager to lead a dynamic team of Mortgage Loan Officers and Mortgage Specialists while driving the end-to-end mortgage sales process. In this role, you will partner with Mortgage Leadership to expand originations, achieve monthly and annual production goals, and deliver an exceptional member experience across our markets. You’ll provide hands-on coaching, foster professional development, and engage in business-building activities that strengthen both our member relationships and market presence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mortgage sales and business development activities, including relationships with realtors, builders, members, and other UWCU partners.
  • Lead and coach Mortgage Loan Officers and Specialists, creating a high-performance sales and service culture.
  • Partner with Mortgage Leadership to establish annual production goals, incentive plans, and sales strategies.
  • Drive origination volume, manage pipelines, and monitor incentive compensation plans to achieve monthly and annual targets.
  • Develop and execute business development plans to grow market share and deepen member relationships.
  • Provide candid feedback and collaborate on product, pricing, and process enhancements to ensure competitiveness.
  • Foster collaboration with Retail, Investment Services, Community & Campus teams to strengthen referrals and cross-sales.
  • Ensure staff are trained, compliant, and equipped to deliver exceptional member experiences; resolve escalated issues promptly.
  • Oversee sales operations, ensuring service levels, process efficiency, and regulatory compliance are consistently met.
  • Lead weekly sales meetings and maintain awareness of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory updates.
  • Champion inclusive leadership practices, coaching, and talent development to recruit, engage, and retain top mortgage sales talent.
  • Model UWCU’s values by driving accountability, effective communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, banking, finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 6+ years mortgage lending experience.
  • 4+ years management experience.
  • Experience in both mortgage sales and operations is highly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, outstanding ability to influence and build relationships, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain an active federal registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry.
  • Maintain a valid license and vehicle liability insurance in the minimum amounts required by law.
  • Ability to travel and work in various locations throughout the credit union network, as needed.
