The Talent Acquisition Consultant I plays a key role in recruiting and developing the credit union’s workforce and building organizational talent. Under the guidance of the Manager of Recruitment and Talent Acquisition, this position is responsible for working with management and staff to provide guidance and coordination of the recruitment and selection process, workforce development, and the establishment and strengthening of community partnerships. The Talent Acquisition Consultant I plays a key role in building UW Credit Union’s bench through the recruitment and selection of key talent for the organization, including the continuous development of community partnerships and strategies with the goal of diversifying the organization’s workforce.
This position must effectively carry out the essential duties of this position in a manner that consistently demonstrates the core values of the organization in a positive manner.
1) Employment & Staffing Coordination - 65%
a. Serves as a resource for coordination of non-exempt positions, providing guidance and support to UWCU Management.
b. Builds strong relationships with hiring managers, providing guidance in the recruitment and interviewing process.
c. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and application of UWCU’s hiring philosophy and practices.
d. Under the direction of the Manager, Recruitment and Talent Acquisition supports the development of staffing plans in partnership with hiring managers for upcoming vacancies and additions to staff, including when opening new branches.
e. Develops relationships with community groups and schools in the communities UWCU is present in order to build a diverse source of qualified candidates.
f. Administers the Applicant Tracking system; ensuring the full value of the software is utilized.
g. Under the direction of the Manager, Recruitment and Talent Acquisition promotes job opportunities through coordinating of weekly job postings, managing weekly hiring report and maximizing use of social media.
h. Supports, enhances and promotes the employee referral program.
i. Conducts thorough and engaging interviews both in person and on the telephone.
j. Participates in tracking of recruitment metrics, maximizing existing HR systems to collect, extract, report, and interpret data.
k. Supports the completion of AAP and EEO reports annually, including individual ownership for timely and accurate reporting of assigned recruitments.
l. Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all employment related local, federal, state laws and regulations including EEOC, FLSA, Title VII, ADA, FCRA, VETS 100, etc.
2) Talent Acquisition Systems & Processes - 15%
a. In partnership with Manager of Recruitment and Talent Acquisition continually identify, research, and lead change for Talent Acquisition and pre-hire process improvements.
b. Tracks reporting and metrics for designated recruitment and learning and development metrics.
c. Continually leverage Talent Acquisition system capabilities to meet organizational pre-hire needs, identifying opportunities to implement functionality and deliver quality solutions.
d. Partners in the coordination, communication, and implementation of new products/functionality for ATS.
3) Foster Community Partnerships & Diversity Outreach - 20%
a. Develops relationships with community groups and schools we serve to build a pipeline of potential employees.
b. Fosters partnerships with local organizations, as identified by HROD Leadership, to increase diversity of UW Credit Union’s workforce.
c. Assist in the facilitation and completion of UW Credit Union’s annual AAP and EEO reporting.
d. Uses AAP and EEO data to continually evaluate, recommend and document development of community partnerships in order to further UW Credit Union’s goal of increasing workforce diversity and cultural competency.
e. Collaborates with internal resources to strengthen existing community partnerships.
f. Researches employment practices that foster diversity and cultural competency; partnering with the Director of HROD and Manager of Talent and Organizational Development to recommend and implement.
-Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or related field required.
-Professional Human Resources Certification (PHR) or Society of Human Resources Management – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred.
-2-3 years experience in Human Resources & Organizational Development required
-7 months-1 year experience in a financial institution preferred
-Ability to analyze human resources and organizational information and make recommendations required.
-Demonstrates a high degree of initiative, independence and self-motivation.
-Awareness of principles and practices of adult and workplace learning.
-Strong facilitation and presentation skills with groups of all sizes.
-Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with employees and leaders in diverse functional areas throughout the organization.
-Beginner or intermediate level consulting skills and ability to support performance improvement by working with internal customers in a performance-consulting role.
-Project management skills with a proven ability to act as a strong project team member.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, UW Credit Union Intranet, Internet Browser, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
-Knowledge of social media vehicles usage in recruitment and learning capacity beneficial.
-Knowledge of UWCU’s retail software applications required.
-Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with strict confidence.
